About The Band

The Reading Civic Concert Band was founded in 1987 as a summer band, performing concerts in Reading's Memorial Park. In 2003, the band was expanded to be a concert band, performing year-round, under the leadership of Lucinda Ellert.

Wow! Next year will be our 25th anniversary!

Winter Concert

February 26, 3 p.m.

Reading Memorial High School Auditorium

February is Black History Month. To celebrate it, we have a great concert planned of music by African-American composers. From swing rhythms to classical harmonies, come and hear the rich contribution these composers have given us. And we have a special treat with pianist Virginia Eskin, who you might remember from our March 2008 concert. This promises to be a spectacular concert!

Join our board!

Reading Civic Concert Band is governed by a board of directors, and we are looking for new members. Join us! Or just come to a board meeting and see what goes on. If you become a board member, though, you will have to learn how to say "e;Argh!"e; properly to participate. The date and time of the next board meeting will be posted here.

The next Board meetings:
The next board meeting will be January 19, 2012, 56 Marlo Lane at 7pm.
