About Us

The Reading Civic Concert Band was founded in 1987 as a summer band, performing concerts in Reading's Memorial Park. In 2003, the band was expanded to be a concert band, performing year-round, under the leadership of Lucinda Ellert.

Winter Concert, February 28 at RMHS

Our Winter Concert is at Reading Memorial High School, Sunday, February 28, at 3pm. See the map below for directions to RMHS. The theme is "Colors". Rhapsody in Blue? Greensleeves? Yellow Submarine? Something by Giuseppe Verdi? Come and find out what we do. Colors so far are black, green, red, rose, blue, gold, silver, purple, and  yellow! We are sure to have a full spectrum of music that will delight you.

!!!LOGO CONTEST!!!

Reading Civic Concert Band needs a logo! We need a small graphic image that says what we are. For example, there is the fox with it's tail curled around in a circle for the FireFox browser, or the oval with the word Ford for Ford Motor Company. Here are a couple of examples from other bands...

Southeastern Massachusetts Community Concert Band logo    After Hours Community Band logo          The All-America Concert Band logo    Ann Arbor Concert Band logo   Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band logo   Eagles Band logo

You can find a list of bands similar to ours at the  Community Band and orchestra Homepages and you will get plenty of inspiration.

!! AND !!

If your logo is the one that is chosen, not only do you get to see it emblazoned on our website and correspondence, for our summer concert YOU get to conduct the band for Stars & Stripes Forever! Wow!
